EcoMaties Gardening is a student-run gardening portfolio based at Stellenbosch University, we have recently moved to a new location right behind the Stellenbosch Rowing club. We give students, university residences, and other societies the chance to rent and manage their own garden plots, while also running a dedicated volunteer section that grows produce for donation to local food banks and students in need. Our broader purpose is to teach students practical, sustainable living skills: how to grow their own food, how to turn that produce into healthy meals, and how to carry a sustainable mindset into their adult lives. We support this through regular workshops and hands-on guidance from our committee during every gardening session. We mainly plant edible plant varieties but we are always open for anything.
